Great stuff, John – thank you for this timely compilation of sources and your own insights!

When visiting a new friend, I am always fascinated by what I find in their library (or sometimes film collection, or even on their walls). Gives me clues to thinking and aesthetics, but also places where our enthusiasms can most easily meet. Many of your sources are familiar to (and beloved by) me already, so much that I’ll seek out the rest also, just for being in such good company!

I was close-following a hundred and fifty brilliant people myself up until a few months ago – this latest mess with Iran sort of burned-out my spirit for that level of close attention. I’ve been a history nut since I was a kid, and it’s getting harder and harder to deny they are going for broke – which means tragedy beyond imagining for so many people we love – and also being called crazy for seeing it so clearly (since 1999, in my case) by those who would rather bury their heads as long as possible (instead of trying to plan to thwart the madness, or at least soften the blow).

Also – thank you doubly, as a boomer and physician, for not forgetting about victims of shots. I had three close friends hospitalized because of them, during the madness, and lost my patience with denialist boomers then, also (still haven’t even noticed every single kid subjected to these protocols experienced life-changing harm – so outrageous – so, thank you for representing for the ‘beloved exception’ faction I always take trouble to note).

Cheers, John – and do please excuse me if I find myself irresistably playing Dr John’s version of “Big Chief” in my head, as an energetic and enlivening soundtrack! ;o)

PS - WRT to the ‘seat of empire’ question – you might get a kick out of this recent tilt

Thanks Paul. I always served in medicine, public health, Navajo Reservation, charity clinics, rural Texas, rural Hawaii. I was an early treating physician for COVID with lots of vitamin-D, giving away over 40,000 doses of 5000IU to coworkers and patients at my expense, my first COVID patient almost dying in November-December 2019 - Yes 2019, so I never believed any of the lies. Early treatment worked great. I never lost a treated patient and very few were hospitalized.

After 18 years at that clinic I accepted firing for "vaccine refusal" in October 2021, and basically retired and designed and built a house to stay busy for a year.

I blog. I'm alive. I was board certified in Family Medicine for 33 years until I was defrocked for "advising patients against COVID-19 vaccination", which was true.

I read your post and left comments along the way there.

Cheers, John

That you were bothering to do the public-health side also, says everything about where your heart (and effort) has been this whole time. Thank YOU for your service (never gets said enough, to those who sacrifice for general public benefit, and not just for malign capitalism itself).

Also very interested by your 2019 dating of the outbreak (which makes sense considering Jeffrey Sach’s (almost never noticed) point about it being commissioned by the sainted Dr F (outright wanted to add a furin cleavage site to SARS, just to see how much more lethal he could make it) then developed in the US (University of North Carolina, I think is his best current guess) and only sent to China later because Wuhan had the sort of bats that were ideal for G of F work).

The part which makes me personally interested in you timing/dating of the outbreak is that my wife was hospitalized in late October 2019 with acute respiratory distress syndrome (they had to intubate her in the bedroom, before even transporting her) and spent almost two weeks in the ICU, first half of that on full bipap, not given great odds, but pulled through (with heroic determination and some absolutely FANTASTIC nurses, who were on her, all day long).

While in the hospital, they did test after test, a whole new battery every day for weeks, but never did identify the pathogen involved. We were extra fortunate, because our best friend trained as a doctor and ran over from her job to be there for ‘rounds’, so I had a translator for the jargon, and also someone who could look at tests numbers and imaging, and know what it meant.

In the end my wife got a long overdue diagnosis of COPD (bronchial side) which finally explained lifelong symptoms she’d had explained away by several other conditions (mostly blood related), and the treatment for COPD is making a HUGE difference (when my doctor friend saw the extent of my wife’s cardiac-hypertrophy, from trying to cope with low oxygen all these years, I got really scared, because she’s unflappable, and yet she almost cried at the image).

Now – she may have simply had pneumonia on top of undiagnosed COPD (not uncommon or improbable) but the timing, intubation, duration of Bipap and inablity to find the pathogen on a panel have all made me wonder if she was in fact dealing with early (most lethal) CovII.

Should mention, along with my (that was never a)V@x injured friends, I have two other pals who now have nasty hard to treat auto immune diseases, and lost still another (lifelong cyclist non-smoker) to a sudden heart attack out of nowhere. That we still aren’t even asking questions about this crazy mess really does change my view about what our society is (and how much value, our so-called ‘representative democracy’).

Freedom of speech (and assembly, for that matter) was for this sort of case exactly!

(Even the original ACLU paper – pulled just before the ‘demic, warned of medical despotism)

Anyhow – apologies for rambling – just wanted to say thanks again.

Your civic commitment is of great value – and your insights are much appreciated also!

My original blog since 2016 was my response to gmail censoring my bcc news compilations to 200 friends, but Google censored it 2/22/22 just before the Ukraine war went big, and took down our gmail, too.

Anyway, here is a post about Ft. Detrick MD, where the virus got out and killed some old folks in June/July 2019: https://www.johndayblog.com/2021/06/fort-detrick.html

Here is from the Ethical Skeptic, analysis showing that some COVID lab strains were circulating in early 2018, more in Asia/Oceana https://theethicalskeptic.com/2024/11/13/omicron-predated-sars-cov-2-wuhan-by-years/

I started the Substack as a mirror. I keep the Google blog active, but Google also took down several posts after that 2/22/2022 episode, too.All my COVID blogging is on it.

"Go Down Gardening" is the story of how they botched sneak-firing me because I was working in the vegetable garden I kept for my coworkers at the clinic on a day off when they called to fire me. Everybody saw. https://www.johndayblog.com/2021/10/go-down-gardening.html

Read all three - outstanding! (and "go down gardening" is not only superb as a piece of first-hand witness to history we must not forget - but also downright beautiful writing - well done on every level!

Ivermectin based treatment made everybody, including me, feel better the next morning.

Is there a recommended dose for antiviral efficacy?

John Day MD's avatar

Tha dosing recommendations for COVID evolved over time. We started at 1 mg per 11# body weight once, the parasite dose, and went up to about a mg per 2-5# every day for a week or even more over time. Here is a source of all the studies of drugs and doses for COVID-19 https://c19early.org/
