The problem with numbers people is they have to change/stop/cut apart something to measure it. This action changes what's real. That's why, other than those who make lots of differing predictions and sometimes appears to be right once, never happen. All these predictions are are marketing tools to form a paying gig.

Anyone reading all the bad news and not converting all of their land space to food production is some kind of numb thinker.

Well, then, seems the FED is gonna try its hand at weather modeling. "If at first you don't succeed"..and all that. You'll find that tidbit at gizadeathstar.

Your photos are always so lovely and happy looking. It's a blessing to be able to have a garden.

But your posts are always about war.

The past three years has tried very hard to make it clear to everyone that "medicine" is a political category. This many of us already knew.

But I've been surprised at how many persons began on the internet as docs, and quickly their discussions were 85% about politics.

This is interesting.

"Medicine" has been a political agenda at least from the Inquisitions on. I just wasn't aware of how very "political minded" a life as an MD makes a person.

Of course, I know from my time in Six Year Med that at least half of the students weren't there to help anyone but themselves. Those of us who held high ideals left in the first two years. My niece's husband, then the Dean of Students at Dartmouth Medical, assured me several years ago that it's always been so.

The histories of medicine as a political arm (weapon) of the State and Church are fascinating.

And that list from Cicero that still applies.....It's the doctor who collects from all other players!!

Makes sense, though. Modern Medicine is envisioned as a battle ground.

It makes me shudder at the context of docs while they see patients.
