That AI has been "caught" lying, cheating, fantasizing etc. can't be a surprise because present AI solely depends on language processing. Issues like moral / ethics / priority depend on the evolution of human senses and the long term term (subconscious) memory made. So an AI companion robot (like for the elderly) would need a (protected) memory of rules which can't be violated.
Most of my education was before the crackdown on it due to Vietnam War protests. So I had to be fluent (academic level) in three foreign languages, of which English is one. Joining the Kundalini email list in 1995 was the reason to change from Oxford English to the American version ;-)
English has numerous valid forms. It is kind of fun to engage in Indian English, for instance. I do it as an American, subtly ending things with "Sir" and so on.
I doubt it is noticeable, as such, because nobody suspects subtlety from an American.
