I've been planting trees on an area of high acid tight clay for decades, not really expensive for a working class person who understands the financial system (don't take on a lot of debt).
I put little oak trees in pots for a year or two. The squirrels plant plenty in my vegetable rows.
Summer 1971 - summer 1973 I lived on my Grandfather's registered Black Angus breeding stock ranch. I had to raise a calf for Ag class, and make $50, or I would fail. I went to a dairy farm and bought a calf, and raised her through the winter (sad, lonely calf) like everybody else.
I kept track of all of my costs and what I was paid for the calf at the spring auction. I made $37. I should have failed.
J.A.G. passed me, like he passed everybody else, because it was not my fault that Earl Butz had kicked the floor out from under all ag. prices and everybody lost money.
Kissinger weaponized American farmers against every other farmer in the world, impoverishing all farmers, and destroying food security, not enhancing it. American farmers also have no food security, and Mexican farmers have lost their land, and have had to come to Texas to work construction and plumbing jobs.
Every country, to have any actual security, needs to assure that it's own farmers are secure in their farms, and able to sustain their growing of food through good years and bad, without taking on debt, without losing the farm, without having to work a job in town to keep the farm.
Fascists gave the WW2 vets perks for fighting that war, but now that they are mostly, maybe all dead the perks are over. Either move to one of those high tech cities and become a cyborg in service to the elite, or plant a garden sort of simple decision.

Fascism in full control. Start a garden and begin the process to detach from these evil intentions.
