"but in largest measure have been willfully censored out of the discussion by most within the editorial power-circles of modern academics and mainstream journalism, which continues to embrace the flawed and disproven theories of "violent genes" or other "original sin" concepts."

God damn them John! The children, the hell.......

Thank you, Red. It seems like a thoughtful and competent assessment of ancient history.

I have just peeked so far.

Have you read The Origins of Violence which was published (1970s?) in Bulletin of Atomic Scientists? It was an overview of anthropological studies and I find it fascinating. And this book! Would I like to read it! But no decent libraries and no money for books.

This one paper is moderately long, like a short book: http://www.orgonelab.org/saharasia_en.htm

Thank you! You can find Origins of Violence online as well; it's quite long so I just read long pieces in several sittings.

Susan - inadequate diet is, I am sure, a contributory factor toward violence - linked to the primeval hunting instinct. You kill when you are hungry or in the end you die, if you are a carnivore. If the only thing to eat is a human being, then you kill a human being to eat.

You could argue that humans migrating north and south toward latitudes where food scarcity might be greater could have contributed toward the emergence of violence.

You could equally say that men needed to develop killing skills to protect their females and children from attacks by carnivorous big cats/big bears in equatorial Africa/North America+Eurasia etc etc.

Violence will have emerged as a necessary survival mechanism somewhere or other. IN many animal species, after all, males fight each other, often close to death, to earn the right to mate the females.

So blame the women for glorifying skills at violence so highly lol)))) JOKE!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I live in a latitude halfway between the equator and the North Pole, and people here were not particularly violent. Yes, there was the "famine time" every year -- Robin Wall Kimmerer said this was why northern indigenous peoples were so thankful for maple syrup if their food supplies ran out, though in Maine they hunted during the winter -- but in general people were far healthier than today.

No, the article in Bulletin of Atomic Scientists said the thing that violent cultures had in common were that they did not subscribe to one of two cultural attitudes: Nonviolent cultures were either very indulgent of infants -- which is obviously a sane attitude toward helpless babies -- and / or they were relaxed about adolescent sexuality. Without at least one of these attributes, cultures became violent.

And by the way they have found that women hunted alongside men, so all that bullshit about tough dudes hunting was just that, bullshit. And most animals do not fight to the death. They do a lot of posturing, sometimes engaging in direct combat, but a lot of it is posturing. It is not good for the species to kill each other; even "lesser" males have their places.

I'm about to post more on this. I don't think there need be an intellectual conflict.

I agree with Putin that Western leaders are reckless and irresponsible.

So you got a young gardener in training! Whee!

I watched Senator Ron Johnson's hearing on the COVID Cartel and found it worthwhile. One of the speakers was very worried about the WHO's efforts to assume control during any illness it can call a pandemic. It looks to me like WHO's fearless leader is planning to resume his role while he was a in Ethiopia.

I have A Midwestern Doctor's post on Senator Ron Johnson's hearings to put up next time. He did a good job with text and video clips.

I think western leaders are reckless and responsible-to-unseen-masters...

Did you see that the Slovakian prime minister (Fico, pronounced Feet-zo if I remember correctly) addressing his legislature? He is pushing forward with an investigation of the vaccines, their cost, the 21,000 dead Slovakians, etc.

Removing parental ight of consent on behalf of their minor children, and giving it to the minor children, sets up a trap for children.

Who would want to do that?

Somebody already guilty of harming children, perhaps?

This was used for "vaccination consent" in many places, and there were bound to be harms and a few fatal outcomes.

;-(

It can be more nefarious than that, also.

The Saharasia link is interesting. I have seen such "revolutionary" takes on human anthropology over the years like this one, which is from the 1990s. While the website looks cheesy, I am open to it but don't have time to delve into the ethnology. What strikes me most are the egregious links at the bottom, wherein Islam is the root of all evil and that any criticism of Israel is outrageous, etc. Complete and utter bullshit.

Just look at this one paper. http://www.orgonelab.org/saharasia_en.htm

Nothing about Islam, per say. Islam came pretty late in the 6000 year process.
