Truly reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about Bizarro World where up is down, black is white, bad is good. Except the consequence here is far from funny. How do we get out of this nightmare episode?
While I admire much of his work to inform and protect us, a reasoned approach to environmentalism is the one to take. We did mot get here in two decades and it will take longer than that to level all of this out with a reasoned approach. Like so many other well intended movements, it gets coopted by those who are motivated by greed, control, and profit.
You, John the Doctor, RFKj, and the host of those who think carbon emissions are a problem, and they are but no one knows to what degree (I don't agree with any extreme prediction, like no effect or causing the end of life on the planet), need to look at the data on sequestering carbon into the soil, naturally. I'm doing it on a small scale, makes for healthy food to boot.
The problem with people on this planet is nearly all of them are fighting for payments, because that's the economic system as designed. Its a hierarchal system designed to siphon surpluses to the top, easier to skim payments than to show up at a homestead with an armed force to take their chickens, and now the top realizes the system doesn't work any longer for lack of real resources.
The people are fighting for nothing.
The only way out is to adopt the lifestyle of their ancestors as you allude after they chop the heads off the hierarchy of course. Its either that or fifteen minute cities and early death by injection. Although I have lobbied to the top they ought to allow for natural people just in case their plans don't work. The language I speak is not well understood by many if any. You all want injections and cities and cheap food, and the most fun now.

I also follow Dr Tim Morgan and Gail Tverberg among the many who are all on board explaining what is happening in the real energy economy but there is not so much about surviving and prospering in the 'New Emergent Economy' following an inevitable global phase transition, much like the last grain of sand dropped on the sand-pile causing a sudden collapse or an avalanche; there are many examples in nature.
One solution is based on an assumed collapse in complexity and a scaling down to a level which is not predictable until it suddenly occurs as is true for all complex adaptive systems in nature which have happened many times in history. I would be astonished by a mass conversion from Covid vaccines among registered Democrats. I really find it hard that "opening up discussion" does a damn thing. Vietnam kept on keeping on even after Saigon was witness to inglorious retreat.
