Ok. In that respect, I don't see nations, I see clusters of people.

Travel and absorb more by all means. India can take 10 years to even cover the basics!

In that respect I found america, especially the desolate midwest (just before 911) to be beautiful

or say a glimpse of what a supposed empire looks like actually.

A "nation", a "culture"...?

I think we are seeing cultures, and that many countries may not be nations.

We had been traveling for 6 months with bikes and backpacks by the time we landed in Delhi, Mom, Dad and 4 teenagers. India was disorienting to the kids, but less than a month later, when we got back to Delhi, from Darjeeling, Sikkim, Nepal and Agra, etc. They flowed through the crowd naturally. I was so proud to see them just flowing naturally through the same streets of Delhi with their backpacks.

Hi John. Thanks for the reply. I suggest do not be a fan of any nation. Glad you traveled and formed fond memories. Alas, Indians now are no different from the Chinese and X. Especially the middle class of India worships the America they see in movies, news etc. Imagine that...

"I am a fan of India" does not mean that I fail to see India as it is. I am also a fan of other countries I have come to know, including Japan, Germany, England, Ireland, etc.

We traveled extensively in India and Nepal in 1988 and as a complete family in 2005.

India was doing much better in 2005.

India is complex and looks chaotic, but it is orderly in an Indian way, not a Chinese way.

An American who understands this, and understands the place of an American in India, can enjoy travel in India, but will have to roll with a lot of unforeseen occurances and keep moving along.

Less we forget one third of the world's malnutricioned children live in India.

A woman is attacked somewhere in India every 6 minutes.

This moon voyage is great to win an election, to cheer up a hopeless mass of 1 billion people, the lumpen proletariat. Also Narendra Modi is responsible for Genocide. He cannot even Spell the various parts of a Rocket, to save his life, Buffalo Overlord of India, for all we Indians Know.

I am no fan of Modi, but I am a fan of India. (I have trekked extensively with my wife and later the whole family, India, Sikkim, Nepal).

Look at the video. Those people are being the best Indians they can be, not westerners, not Chinese, the best Indians they can be.

I am thinking that the assassination of Prigozhin was a "two-fer": dispose of effective Russian military leader while casting blame on Putin, but also to distract from the appalling shit-show in Maui.

I sure don't know. Nobody is claiming this hit.

I certainly don't know, but "nobody" claimed the Nordstream pipeline destruction, either...

Dr John

I wonder if you have any links to a much more detailed description of a 'coconut oil-enriched Mediterranean diet'?

I kind of assume if means a diet rich in traditional oils like olive oil, plenty of salads, plenty of fruit and vegetables, but there are plenty of variations in diet between Cadiz and Beirut, both to the North and the South of the Mediterranean sea.....

When I started as a PhD student in cancer research in 1986, it was noted officially back then that southern Italy had extremely low levels both of cancer and heart disease and it was stated to be associated with a healthy diet.

Seems to me that healthy diets are a good indicator of healthy living, since all the organs of the body are adequate supplied with what they need to function, and poisons are excluded from the diet as a matter of rigour.

Nobody will ever follow-up this study unless the world changes.

Highly processed diet is the big problem, and inactivity, and chemical additives ...

"Mediterranean Diet" is a searchable medical term. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/16037-mediterranean-diet
