Great site, thanks for these articles. And I'm jealous, still waiting for my banana 'pups' to sprout here on Vancouver Island!
Side-note - I too see that dashed line on the graph at just below 1/4 way from 2000 to 2050 (so just below 2012.5) so I agree it's more like 2010.
The limits to growth aspect seems to continue to fit the big picture - at least what I first saw/assumed in mid 2020 when I realized the C19 narrative was another giant noble lie to get 'the bewildered herd' to comply for our own good. Others who have woken up and gotten mad simply say 'they're just all evil and psychopaths trying to cull us!' Or 'the fiat system was set to collapse' etc.
All can be true. The fiat system is a petro-dollar debt system, and so part of the energy system., so both would be set to collapse. Putting us on to a new CBDC would simply give consumption control that technocrats have always wanted. And the UN's own prediction has our mortality returning to 1.1% (similar to 1970s), from the low of 0.75% (2018), gradually reducing population growth into the year 2100:
Another side note. I've seen censorship perfected over 15 years working from time to time in China, using 'Western' companies and technology. I assume we in the West will be there soon - it's just starting to accelerate since 2020. I predict at some point, all of those lured over to the 'new censor-free' platforms like substack, Telegram, etc. can simply be removed as done on Youtube and Google etc. I also saw in Shenzhen (2017) the 'health pass' digital ID system being used.
So I am a bit biased I guess, or as my friend calls me - 'cynical'
I intend to laugh. A lot. Whirling Buddha/Tasmanian Devil. I'll cry when burial becomes a major issue. Violent civil disruption is no time to be maudlin, which is a shame: I LOVE maudlin.
I hear it often said among economists that no one will go off the petrodollar until there is a replacement. This assumes that things just won't plain break down in between -- rather as we see now. Suddenly, economists see that maybe the petrodollar is done after all.

You are "informed", DS, so more likely "stoic" than "cynical".
