I've come to learn over nearly 60 years that for whatever reason, some people develop and retain the power of conscience and others, for whatever reason, either never do or lose the ability to act upon it.
I've spent a lot of time trying to rationalise this by studying psychological/emotional mindset constructs, asked whether specific life events may or may not impact on such outcomes and whether those with conscience can be destroyed by aggressive mind-control activities of malevolent actors.
I've been offered the chance to be corrupt. I've been offered the chance to steal corporate information. I've been put under electronic surveillance both at work and in the home. I've even had spooky types deliberately occupy the flat beneath me to detect keystrokes hit on a computer not connected to the internet for 18 months. I've been tailed by cars for over 100 miles, I've had spooks follow me on mountains and I've identified US spies residing in alpine ski resorts.
In the end, you learn that there are some people that just play the game without morals. There are those that reduce the whole of life to a question of money. There are those whose life has no meaning without exerting power over others, often without their consent.
In the end, you are in control of your own decisions, even if they are irrational to others. It all comes down to what your value system is.
Will you do anything for money, prestige and social standing?
If not, what are your limits??
Far, far too many people never ask themselves those questions perhaps afraid of the answers they would be confronted with.....
Hmmmm. I dunno. Back, far back, when Russia and I think Turks, defeated Kazarians and insisted they take up a religion. They did this for a reason. People were missing , women and children raped. They wanted to put an end to the terrorizing of travelers. I think this may have been where the unemotional come from. I mean we had psychos before and occultists, that but not a whole group of people that sucked blood and ate flesh of other people and were pedophiles. The idea of vampirism, the torturing of children for adrenochrome and sex....A very different type of being for sure.
Ellsberg was an Early Snowden. He did you americans a great favor, starting the whistle blow culture. Yet he is not alone in the legacy of showing how vicious the American govt is. You must read books by Howard Zinn, Sheldon Wolen, David Stannard W. E. B. Du Bois and John Rawls. And to top it all, Ellsberg's own hero Hannah Arendt (was not american).
I registered for the draft in '68 and the Beatles' "Revolution" played over the PA during orientation for college (SDSU). The draft lottery was held that fall; my number was 125. I watched the Pentagon Papers story with personal interest. My student deferment kept me out of the service as my number was called up and my application for CO status was pending. The bravery of Mr Ellsberg is one of the main reasons I applied.
Wonderful tribute and story, Dr. John. And your eggplants look great! We’ve been harvesting ours for a couple of weeks now. I’ve already made eggplant parmigiana twice!
I think until proven otherwise he did accept the Elderly Eucharist. The New Faith is pretty strong. We shall have no God before Corona! Submit!
La illah illa Corona (the word of Science) means, there is no God but Covid and is one of the greatest phrases anyone can say.
This is what it means to have faith, it’s the foundation of Order, the pillar of belief. Whoever understands it and wholeheartedly believes it will be vaccinated and saved.
The benefits and virtue of this phrase and its place in the Blind Faith tradition are far greater than can be described.
Their foot shall slide in due time (Deut. xxxii. 35).
In this verse is threatened the vengeance of God on the wicked unbelieving Israelites, who were God’s visible people, and who lived under the means of grace; but who, notwithstanding all God’s wonderful works towards them, remained (as ver. 28.) void of counsel, having no understanding in them. Under all the cultivations of heaven, they brought forth bitter and poisonous fruit; http://www.jonathan-edwards.org/Sinners.pdf
All a matter of perspective. Men do disagree all the time, is it then best to accept hook line and sinker every hero story told THAT FITS A SHARED BIAS and think nothing other than what you are told?
Thanks Stegial. I red that completely and with interest.
That is what it means to work for the people Ellsberg worked for, becoming a "Vietnam expert". I don't know if Ellsberg's first wife got a divorce (1965) before or after he was unfaithful to her, but it was that year. Her dad was a USMC Brigadier General, though maybe retired by then.
These kinds of intrigues and relationships may eplain why it did not attract attention when Ellsberg attended peace rallies. It could well have been a research-assignment in the world where he worked. He was assigned to cavort in Saigon's high-society previously, no?
It does really look like he had an epiphany. He had been a corrupted idealist, but the idealism prevailed. How can I truly know?
Had his dad not fallen asleep at the wheel, killing his mom, Daniel Ellsberg would probably have been a pianist. He would likely have been very good.
He died of pancreatic cancer a few months after he was diagnosed. It was already disseminated and untreatable. Did he get the COVID shots?
The subjects you bring compared to the joy on your face I see, when you plunge into your brousse/jungle garden the difference cannot be any greater. Keep up with the last, the former brings much weeping and a missed life. The avatar is not far away, just step into your garden.🦶
RIP
Didn't know he passed away.
Great Hero.
Now we must all fight for Julian Assange.
https://fritzfreud.substack.com/p/julian-assange-prisoner-of-war
Ellsberg said the same about supporting Assange, who he saw as a torch-bearer for truth.
I know... That's why I posted it.
And Assange was inspired by Ellsberg.
Courage is contagious.
Also a great shutout to John Pilger who is also a great Inspiration.
John Pilger, "Freedom Next Time".
Integrity.
Integrity comes at a high price when the wicked rule.
That is most of the time, isn't it?
Sad but true

You have been paid more-expensive-attention than I have.
I won't ask why.
Life has meaning.

The Khazarian empire did not write things down...
It is hard to know the deep roots.
There is some kind of feeding-off-suffering going on.
Where are the Van Helsings?

Thanks Elton. They eliminated the draft about 30 days before I turned 18.

We have so much eggplant, and have been giving them away to those who like them These are prettier than the Black Beauty that grows so well for us.
Yes we’re growing two varieties this year, neither are black beauty. We’re having to give some away too. They don’t last too long after harvesting!

More unknowns.
Great content John. Love this blog
Thank You, Amigo. I hope your winter solstice is a good day and you get as much done as possible.

Thank you, Guido.
