I have years in the struggle to wake myself and others. In 5th grade my pastor had us write anti-war letters and to be sure 1966 was completely in synch. A more cultured and genteel time. As contrast to 57 years after the moment. Now in 2023 I glance around at what is on the other side of de-civilization and laugh "what is Hamlet but used parts." Nothing to do with reason at all
I adored Battle Songs of the Green Beret at that age. I think at 9 or 10 I was unable to grasp any propaganda. Amusingly Sadler resonated in my soul with both patriot and working man. Sacramento suburbs with civilian employees on military bases had during Vietnam a curious atmosphere,
Funny. I keep repressing John Wayne. :) Even studying the cinema of the 60's Night of the Iguana captured my imagination more than Mr. Wayne. South Pacific as a kid I watched 3 times.
The ways we need each other are important to profess.
I almost despaired reading this, but the picture of your happy Jenny, and the wit and insight of the commenters…this day ends on a hopeful note!
"Hope" was the last thing out of Pandora's box.
Those Greek fables...
:-)
I am informed (now - thanks to you Doc and your Substack co-informers),
and I DO NOT CONSENT to the madness.
Thanks as always for your dose of healer's/gardener's/homesteader's sanity, common sense & life-affirming love.
You are most welcome, Dogsnose.
(Er, would you mind repeating that again, and again, and...)
:-)
Won’t be any nuclear. I don’t like the sound of Ukraines using toxic gases ! And leave Taiwan alone.
I have only ever met nice people from Taiwan. I agree they should be left alone.
By everybody.

I was in 2nd and 3rd grades in 1966. You've got a bit of alead on me.
I grew up on military bases. We sang "Onward Christian Soldiers" a lot, with gusto...

"Marian Morrison", as my USMC dad would point out fairly often.
One wonders if Cash thought of Wayne with "A boy named Sue" and now with amazement I think no Gay organization bought rights. :)
We the people are the reality, we keep the boat stable and sailing, we create the wealth, we are the producers and creators.
Happy Birthday Jenny! Nice cabinet! Beautiful smile!
Thank You, Eleni.
It's just the cabinet I made between the washer and dryer, Nathan.
Thank You, Gracie.
Hadn't looked into endocrine-disruption from dryer sheets. Got links?
We ground ourselves gardening...
:-)
We don't use synthetic scents.
We can try skipping the dryer sheets. I use wool socks a lot, so maybe they act like wool balls.
(Jenny won't give up Teflon.)
I have bought ceramic-coated skillets. We still have them.
