30 Years Ago. I Knew What was Coming. So Did Many Others. Got Off The Grid. Went Back To The Only Future. Ancient Ways & Wisdom. ++ Advancements in the Same

Rural folks survive by production and harvesting. Urban people need to survive by accumulating useful (physical) gadgets, devices, chemicals, and knowledge to use the above properly. Plus, urban people need to master the art of recycling. When diesel costs more than 5$/gallon, things just don't flow around that much. There is a significant chance (> 10%) that the diesel price will increase beyond that point.

John Day MD's avatar

Using less up front is so much more effective than trying to recycle, especially with plastics, but some minimal use of plastic is very efficient.

Paper grocery bags are weaker and bulkier, so NOT more efficient overall, but there is so much more plastic packaging than needed everywhere...

How did we do without it in the 1960s?

Nakayama's avatar

Preventing the initial use of new materials is more important than recycling. Even re-use is better than recycling, especially when recycling in most countries is but a joke.

John Day MD's avatar

Recycling plastics is a complete ruse. Steel and aluminum cans recycle. As does glass, though not quite economically, but paper/cardboard recycling is not economical, and plastic recycling or even burning for fuel will just not be realized without burning extra oil to accomplish.

Cutting down plastic packaging to something like 30% of current should be readily possible. It was already that way in our lifetimes.

In the UK yesterday I bought some diesel at £1.63. The price was £1.76 per litre at a 3rd filling station.

The price we pay includes duty of about 10 pence per litre. 20% VAT is charged on top of the whole price including duty.

Even £1.60 per litre equates to roughly $7.50 per gallon, I think.

Tim Morgan finally has a new post just now at Surplus Energy Economics. https://surplusenergyeconomics.wordpress.com/

This is a time to navigate how to secure the essentials of life. I am sorry that your islands are being squeezed so hard, similarly to how Greece was, but with more intentional division, as the elites invited in so many people who have their own interests, and will often not pull in the same direction as native Britons.

"Divide and rule", is how our "owners" (Carlin) typically operate. ;-(

What? 20% VAT? Japan has 10% VAT, and 5% VAT in Taiwan. I think no economy can survive 20% VAT.

John Day MD's avatar

It's a human-culling underway ;-(

Most European countries seem to have 20% or 25% VAT on almost everything you buy, even *food*.

These would-be feudal-city-state monarchs, like the genocidal poof Peter Thiel, have failed in their entirety to prove themselves as 'superior'. They have proven themselves to be corrupt criminals, to be sure, but the misuse of Thiel's AI system causing the death of 170 Iranian schoolgirls is the final nail in the coffin of those claiming that might is right, riches are wisdom.

170 schoolgirls are dead because Thiel's AI system was too thick to choose targets that were not schools. People like Thiel want to eliminate human checkers because then his AI system can charge more money. Well, he charged more money, eliminated human checking and murdered 170 Iranian schoolgirls.

As a feudal would-be-city- chief, Thiel is 100% responsible for that mass murder and there should be no way that an anti-democratic demon like him should have the right to defend himself in a court of law.

He should face the ultimate consequences for his arrogant incompetence.

John Day MD's avatar

I have also seen the assertion that many of the schoolgirls were the daughters of military officers and that this was an intentional attack to disrupt the military through that intimate family attack. It is a consideration, not to likely be proven or disproven. It needs investigating, but we would never be told if an intentional war crime had been perpetrated.

I would prefer the unaccountable rich attempt to rule smaller areas rather than the entire country.

they're easier for the citizenry to reach that way.

I am NOT talking about reaching them via courts or cops. those systems are already a bad joke on everyone but the rich, and they're not even fully assimilated into the technocratic city-state model yet.

When losses are "assigned" in the financial collapse, the wealthiest should be assigned the largest proportion of losses. a soprt of equalization towards bare-necessity overall.

They have used their advantage to immiserate everybody else, and to set up the collapse that now looms.

Pretty much.

They are using Human aborted fetus cells... HEK-293 as food enhancers in Coke Pepsi and Nestle... especially in Vitamins and such products.

And this research is to make Humans compatible with machines so that Humanity can be taken over by AI.

Imagine a gigantic Artificial cloned super brain feeding on all of Humanity connected to AI.

That isn't sci fi... that is what they are planning and working on.

The BORG had more freedom than that.

Good.

Let's drive them even more mad by being free!

"Patrick Wood cracks the door for a peek into that here: Why Trump’s Takeover In Gaza Preceded The War In Iran - On the Iran war, the Board of Peace, USD1 and “The Final Betrayal” The central argument of our book is not comfortable. We did not write it to please any political constituency, and we have paid for that in criticism from both sides. The argument is this: technocracy — the organization of society by unelected technical and financial experts, operating outside democratic accountability — has staged a sweeping coup in Washington. It did not arrive wearing the face of socialism or communism or fascism. It arrived wearing the face of populism. It rode the MAGA movement into power and then systematically betrayed it."

The Empire of Chaos is built on the reserve-currency and imposing massive damage on any entity that seeks to circumvent the use of that value-extracting mechanism. The enforcement and the currency arms are both much weakened now.

Michael Hudson has often explored the stabilizing benefits to societies of "jubilees". Without periodic debt repeal the creditor class takes over all human activity, which starves out essential functions of societal support, maintenance and renewal, a debt-doom-loop,

Should Israel use a nuke? Brother John I know you don't bother with the idiot box so I've sorted through the transcript to get to the meat. Here is a reply at the Cradle from a prominent Chinese lawyer Victor Gao from the transcript:

36:4836 minutes, 48 seconds: proliferation of these weapons. Must it not be nipped in the bud immediately so that nobody thinks of doing this again

36:5536 minutes, 55 seconds: is really my question to you. What can be done short other than condemnation?

37:0137 minutes, 1 second: It's not only condemnation. I mentioned the moment Israel dares to drop a bomb against other country will be the moment

So what do we not know about the leverage of the top operatives of the government of the State of Israel?

There is something vast, powerful and unseen.

We are aware of bribery, blackmail and intelligence penetration of government communications.

Have they hidden nuclear devices in NYC and DC, for instance?
