A tiny correction, if I may...We in Finland import/imported all of our gas from Russia, but the use of gas is minuscule (5% of energy use, if I remember right). So we are fully winterized, mostly by electricity, oil and wood-burning stoves. The prices are another matter. And since we are integreated to the european electricity grid, the transition to heating and cooking by electricity instead of gas in Germany and others will make for interesting autumn both in prices and the grid carrying capacity. I am smug in my home that can be heated with wood, likewise a wood-burning stove for cooking. An old house makes for nice resilience.
I have been experimenting with a tea made from Stephania Tetrandra, a chinese medicine herb. It is traditionally used against arthritis, and my joints do feel a bit better. But looking at the research, there are many promising features in this plant/root https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7180683/. Appears to cover many things related to becoming old. Of course, the research is mostly on those long-suffering murines, so evidence value/weight is limited.
It is such a strange media environment nowadays. When did the cancel ideology break through in common use? Of course, the makings of it are old:

Now it just seems that it is applied everywhere. Could it be wokeness that kind of broke the dam? Of course, social media is the soil that is required for it. But for me, personally, seeing dictator Erdogan speak truth to state-financed Finnish&Swedish public media on spreading propaganda, and be dismissed by said media as delusional imaginings. Our media report everything Zelenski/ukraine media says as truth. A mighty tangle. If the internet fails, only intuition is left. But that informed me about the vaccinations before any media. We are on our own, and need to drive by our own lights.
