The proposals are said to be based on the results of the premier’s controversial peace mission earlier this month, during which he visited Ukraine, Russia, and China.
Orban provided EU leaders with a detailed account of his visits, and delivered Budapest’s action plan to their desks, Balazs Orban (no relation) told the newspaper.
The adviser described Budapest’s proposals as being “based on a realistic assessment of the situation” and on setting “realistic goals,” without elaborating further.
Balazs Orban claimed that there are “pro-war” political forces in the EU, and that the bloc is following the lead of the current US administration, which, he said, wants the conflict to continue.
”If Europe wants peace and wants to have a decisive say in the settlement of the war [in Ukraine] and the end of the bloodshed, then the change of course must be worked out and implemented now,” the adviser said... ..Hungary plans to use the six months of its rotating presidency of the, which began in July, to create conditions for peace talks. “If the union does not act now, it may not be able to act later,” Balazs Orban warned.

The consolation is that, just like West Germany was eventually reunified with East, they contend that Ukraine can ‘hold out’ under the promise of reunification with the territory they lost at some indeterminate future time... ..Once settled, Kyiv and the alliance would go public with these agreements. NATO could amplify Kyiv’s unilateral statement with a similar declaration. The goal would be for independent Ukraine to join NATO as soon as feasible, ideally before January 20, 2025—but, if need be, as part of Trump’s “deal.” As can be seen by the end, they even radically propose for this plan to be enacted ASAP to beat Trump to the punch, thus is their sheer terror at the fallout of a Trump presidency. It should also be noted that Trump’s new VP pick, JD Vance, has previously stated unequivocally that Ukraine should give up land to end the war.
The problem is, almost all of the above in practice sounds virtually no different to the previous Minsk accords. What possible incentive would Russia have in taking such a “deal” which freezes the conflict and brings NATO even closer to Russian territory—thus effectively achieving the complete opposite of Russia’s chief objectives in the war? ... ..The only issue would of course be the vetoing of such a move by saner NATO members like Hungary, but there could be mechanisms to deal with that. Although, the danger for such a drastic plan to totally rip NATO apart and cause its collapse would likely be great; but in the minds of desperate Western globalists it would be a trade off: should Ukraine lose the war in decisively dramatic fashion, NATO would face its extinction anyway.
This is why, for instance, the Western banking cabal is so rabidly earnest in seizing stolen Russian sovereign funds despite the risk of it completely delegitimizing the entire Western financial system: they know that if Russia wins the war, this system will collapse anyway, owing to a runaway effect of de-dollarization and Russia’s leading role in the paradigm-breaking multipolarity grand awakening.

Columbia University suspends three deans for “antisemitic” speech in private text messages [They secretly gave Zionist campus Rabbi screed VOMIT EMOJIS!] Three administrators at Ivy League school Columbia University – Cristen Kromm, the former dean of undergraduate student life; Matthew Patashnick, the former associate dean for student and family support; and Susan Chang-Kim, the former vice dean and chief administrative officer – got canned this week after it was revealed that they exchanged "antisemitic" text messages in private during a seminar on Jewish campus life back in May.
According to Nemat Shafik, Columbia's president, the three deans "disturbingly touched on ancient antisemitic tropes" in their private text conversations with one another.
"Whether intended as such or not, these sentiments are unacceptable and deeply upsetting, conveying a lack of seriousness about the concerns and the experiences of members of our Jewish community," Shafik wrote in a letter that was publicly released this week.
Washington Free Beacon is credited with leaking photographs of the text exchanges which include one of the deans using two vomit emojis in response to an article published in Columbia Spectator, Columbia's student newspaper, by Yonah Hain, the campus rabbi, about how students were responding to the events of October 7.
"Debates about Zionism, one state or two states ... are all welcome conversations on campus," Hain wrote in his piece, adding that support for the so-called "Palestinian Resistance" equates to the "normalization of Hamas ... [and] a point-of-no-return moment at Columbia." In another text exchange, one of the deans asked the other two if it was really true that Columbia students had been kicked out of campus clubs for being Jewish. Then there was another exchange in which Change-Kim expressed concerns about the antisemitism panel itself.
"This is difficult to listen to but I'm trying to keep an open mind to learn about this point of view," she wrote.
Patashnick in another exchange said that one of the antisemitism panel speakers was "taking full advantage of this moment" by making it about the "huge fundraising potential" in support of Israeli causes.

The economy is a self-organizing system that seems to figure out its own way of resolving the problem of not enough resources to go around because of diminishing returns. The world economy seems to be headed toward reorganization.
I believe that the Covid-19 era represented one rather strange self-organized response to the “not enough oil to go around” problem. Figure 6 shows a clear dip in the amount of oil consumed in 2020, particularly by the Advanced Economies. Some of this reduced oil consumption continues, even now, because more people started working from home, saving on oil. Another helpful change was a huge ramp-up in the use of online meetings.
It is possible that new adaptations to limited oil supply may appear in as strange a way as the Covid-19 era did.
Another possibility is that the Advanced Economies, particularly the US, will encounter severe financial problems as the rest of the world moves away from the US dollar. Or the problem could be falling asset prices because of higher interest rates, causing many financial institutions to fail. Or the problem could be too much money being printed, but practically nothing to buy, causing severe inflation of commodity prices.
War may be a possibility because it is an age-old way of dealing with resource problems. For one thing, it becomes easy to raise debt to pay for a war. This debt can be used to hire soldiers and buy munitions. With the higher debt, the GDP of the economy can be expected to suddenly look better because of the stimulus given to it. The major “catch” is that picking a fight with a major competitor or two could prove to be disastrous.

I think 'Europe is panicking' is a bit too general: quite a lot of bits of Europe don't see why they should be buttressing Ukraine anyway. It was always a US war, never a European one. Europe was just NATO satrapies too scared to tell the USA to go jump in the Atlantic Ocean - the whole coup d'etat in 2014 was accompanied by the 'f**k the EU!' remark of Nuland, after all, which should have told sentient EU leaders a decade ago that the USA was absolutely not an ally, let alone an honorable and trustworthy one.
Quite frankly, I suspect that Putin would be able to negotiate perfectly happily with Europe about Ukraine, with the USA firmly out of the picture and US troops rapidly leaving the European mainland and giving up all their imperialist bases.
MI6 would never go up against Putin alone in Ukraine, they are just equivalent to one wet work division, one dirty tricks division and one propaganda smearing division of the off-the-books parts of the Pentagon/CIA unauditable long grass.
Macron would have zero support within France for war and the Germans have always liked the Russians so would promote peace too.
So that leaves Poland. And the goons in Brussels, who may see the EU go the same way as NATO if they try wiggling their second-rate military appendages for all the world to see......
Of course, one could always be wrong, but Putin has said for 25 years that he is not interested in expanding Russian territories, he merely wishes to ensure that ethnic Russians in neighbouring countries are not discriminated against, genocided, cancelled etc etc.
So long as Europe lays down a sensible 'thou shall not advance Russia's Western borders one centimetre into Finland, the Baltic States, Moldova, Poland, Hungary, Romania etc' as a non-negotiable red line, one suspects that both sides can lay down their red lines in meeting one and then start constructive diplomacy on 'matters of mutual interest and concern'.
So long as the US Russophobia is kicked out of europe lock, stock and barrel, peace can emerge quite rapidly.
