I first saw this story 2 days ago, and could not find much on it yesterday, but the NATO Allied-Commander in Europe , Lt. General Roger Cloutier, has reportedly been captured in Mariupol, Ukraine by Russian forces. The best confirmation I can get from friends-of-friends is that this is real.
Veterans Today had the story yesterday.
"Fact checkers" rightly pointed out that Cloutier is not a major general and no longer commands US forces in Africa.

But Maj. Brian Andries, deputy public affairs officer at NATO Allied Land Command, confirmed in an email to PolitiFact that Cloutier has not been captured.
"These rumors are completely false," Andries said. "Our commander is currently commanding NATO Allied Land Command in Izmir, Turkey, and has not been to Ukraine since the Land Staff Talks we conducted in July of 2021. While NATO nations are sending financial and military aid to Ukraine, no NATO soldiers or leaders are deployed to the country."
On April 5, one day after he was alleged to have been captured, Cloutier shared photos from an event in Turkey to his LinkedIn profile. One commenter responding to the post asked Cloutier about the rumors that he had been taken captive by Russian forces.
Cloutier’s response was the same as Andries’ to PolitiFact. "These rumors are completely false," he wrote in reply.
Maybe a picture of General Cloutier with today's Turkish newspaper at a local Turkish landmark and some witnesses would be in order?
Linkedin images from an event 4/5/21 in Turkey are mentioned as proof, but we'd all like to see them, right?
I did a search of that, and could not find an image with that date, but I'm a novice.
New York Times video shows Ukrainian soldiers killing captured Russian troops near Bucha, shortly before the Bucha massacre
The video was verified by The Times, however, the outlet decided not to publish it due to its graphic nature. Per The Times it shows a Ukrainian soldier shooting a Russian soldier three times while another man says "he's still alive. Film these marauders. Look, he's still alive. He's gasping."
The video, The Times reported, also shows at least three other Russian soldiers dead near the victim — identified by white armbands commonly worn by Russian troops. One of the soldiers has an obvious head wound and his hands are tied behind his back.
Retreating Ukrainian forces have allegedly blown up a tank allegedly containing hydrochloric acid, at a chemical plant in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) town of Rubezhnoe, which has emerged as a flashpoint in the ongoing military conflict.
The tank explosion was aimed at a populated area, controlled by local fighters, the LPR's militia claimed on Tuesday.
“[These] terrorist actions might lead to mass civilian casualties,” the force warned on its Telegram channel,
adding that authorities are currently collecting information about any casualties resulting from the incident.
The LPR has also accused Ukrainian media of “actively spreading fakes” that Donbass fighters had blown up the tank themselves. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, on the morning of 5 April, another attempt by the Kiev regime to evacuate the leaders of the Azov nationalist battalion was foiled near Mariupol. Two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters attempting to break through to the city from the sea were reportedly shot down by man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
According to unconfirmed reports by Russian military commanders on the ground and several sources, NATO officers and even a general of the US and European Armies may be blocked in Mariupol. Some sources report that the Russian Army had already taken one NATO commander, Lieutenant General Roger L. Clothier, near Mariupol. Other sources allegedly report his death. Reports about NATO commanders taking shelter with Azov militants in Mariupol may explain why NATO member states especially France and Turkey are asking to implement a humanitarian mission in Mariupol, but only with the participation of their military.

Presumably, the farmer should have just allowed the four burglars to ransack his home and potentially harm his young daughter without doing anything to intervene. Macron insisted that the farmer should have called the police.
