My focus being nutrition...I note Focal Points information today related to even small amounts of the wrong food, setting people up for illness. If people really gave a thought to health...they would see the horrendous amount of ill health in America and question, why? America is now in 47th place in the world and it used to be #1. 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Sickness is rampant...and people keep on doing the same thing...putting garbage in their mouths, such as, no-nutrient processed foods loaded with chemicals and pesticides that break down the body. People put items in their mouths without giving a thought to the end result. People fail to think about the damage putting the wrong items in the mouth does. It will destroy their internal organs by eating, drinking or ingesting items that should not go into the mouth. The mouth was made for one thing: eating natural food that would nourish the organs and cells; and supply the body with energy in order to function well. My next substack Sunday 7-6-25 I am going to cover health & nutrition information people need to get well and stay well at: barbaracharis.substack.com

Not sure where in Texas you are based, Dr John, but hope you are not flooded out.

I also hope that Texan officials focus more on practical steps to control the flow of extreme rainfalls, rather than obsess solely about 'warning systems', which are necessary to allow evacuations but won't make future floods any less devastating to property, infrastructure and farmland.

Most global experts on flood amelioration focus on how to retain water volumes for greater periods of time where the rain falls, thus decreasing the rate at which rivers rise and allowing outflow over longer, less destructive periods of time. Different solutions exist depending on terrain, climate, natural vegetation etc.

Texans aren't going to escape future flash rainfall events. What they can choose to do is to try and set themselves up to cope with them in the most humane way possible.
