Happy 4th of July! I read Alex Krainer's info about Americans not even knowing about the Declaration of Independence and the history of the 56 men who signed it. They pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor...so that America would be free from the English Crown and King George...and from 'taxation without representation,' and other things England was imposing on the colonies. They Signed for Us is. wonderful short book written by Meryl Sinclair and Annabel Douglas-McArthur. It covers a brief history of many of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, It is a book every American should read. It should be a required reading for every American school child in our educational system.

as far as the EU's internet censorship laws go, that's an area where boycott would likely raise citizen and even corporate pressure on the governments enough to get them rescinded.

but it would have to be the affected companies performing the boycott.

oh, golly gee whiz Eurogov, your impending fines make the cost of doing business in your countries economically unviable... so we are now blocking access to our services from all EU IP addresses rather than kowtow to your censorship rules.

never gonna happen but in a better managed world that tactic could work.
